  1. Identify the strategic and operational needs of the ICT project during the planning phase
  2. Prepare the ICT project plan
  3. Assemble the ICT project team and commence work
  4. Manage the IT project
  5. Finalise the IT project
  6. Use the IT project to contribute to improved policies and processes

Performance Evidence

Evidence of the ability to:

design, implement, manage and finalise a complex information and communications technology (ICT) project

manage planning processes, scheduling, human resources, reporting and response to contingencies

align projects with organisational strategies and requirements

assess outcomes and provide recommendations that will refine and improve future ICT project management processes.

Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.


Knowledge Evidence

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

explain the concepts of risk management planning and processes

outline computer software functions and operation, including relevant proprietary software

identify relevant current legislation, codes and standards

explain sustainability requirements and ratings, including:

reporting mechanisms

conservation of energy

management of other resources

explain tools and models of project management

identify and explain organisational frameworks and functions, including:

enterprises

government bodies

industry associations.
